I confess to being a little bit amused by the anonymous diatribe by the elusive "move on" concerning the twin failings of Mirabai of Woodstock; namely, the temerity of wishing to rid this great country of a pernicious President and the even more bizarre belief in energies that might have different properties than those energies currently known within the orders of nature. While I might not purchase a "chakra mala" myself it does not follow that we know all that can possibly be known about potential non-electromagnetic energies. It seems clear that with the advant of membrane theory (a.k.a,. super string theory) we may be faced with the prospect that other things are afoot (in perhaps ten or more dimensions) within the universe than nineteenth century electromagnetic theory has prepared us for. I refuse to claim omniscience concerning the philosophical and empirical foundations of physics. Many people who "think with their brain," and yes, even some of us professors, know that there is a seismic shift taking place within the hard sciences. It is far wiser to take a wait and see attitude concerning the phenomenon of energy than to engage in the tired and intellectually sterile slash and burn method. And yes, I am happy to be counted a fan of Mirabai of Woodstock.
