Intro to Chair Yoga
A Workshop with Roxie Newberry
All the tools in yoga are a means to enhance our life, our aliveness. Through practicing yoga, we re-connect with ourselves deeply, begin to release old tensions, and cultivate balance, ease, strong free-flowing life energy, and a calm, steady mind. In this workshop, we’ll be exploring these benefits in a gentle yoga class. Everything will be done seated in a chair or standing holding the chair for support. You’ll learn how to practice safely, in a way that honors your unique body, and experience a complete yoga practice with warm-ups for all the joints, yogic breathing and postures. We’ll talk about how to bring yoga into your life—at home, at the office, on the road. Please refrain from eating a full meal during the two hours prior to the workshop and wear comfortable clothing.

Cost: $15 if registered and prepaid by May 3rd; $20 if registering after the 3rd.

Teacher Bio: Roxie Newberry is a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher. She teaches chair yoga at the Saugerties Senior Center, and classes at YogaMonkey of Woodstock and Reservoir United Methodist Church in Shokan.
